OUR STRATEGIC PLAN

At the Winter 2015 Conference, VASBO embarked upon drafting a Strategic Plan document to add to its rich history. VASBO’s strategic plan provides a blueprint for action to enhance professional development offerings, member and vendor engagement and fiscal sustainability. In addition, it provides a long-range planning process for organizational growth as well as a mechanism for the organization to evaluate progress. Please see the key components of the plan, which was updated in Spring 2022.

VASBO PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Dear VASBO Members, Partners, and Friends,

Thank you for having confidence in me to serve as the VASBO President for 2024-2025. It is an honor, and I am truly humbled by the responsibility. Our work continues to be marked by challenges, even as we have weathered the storms of a global pandemic and still face the uncertainty of a virus that will always be with us, much like the Flu. We still face staffing challenges in our schools, a reckoning around race and equity, growing socio-economic disparities, and the ebbs and flows of funding to our School Divisions. Last year we found balance and this year I hope that we can move ahead with “Creating Our Own Path” as we work through each day, knowing that our purpose is worth the immense challenges that we face.

We have exciting conference and networking plans for the year that you will find worthwhile. The Fall networking event with your Regional groups will not only provide relevant information to you, but it will also provide time to collaborate with colleagues who face the same issues you do. The Winter Conference is always a rich resource for preparing for the budget season when we meet in Richmond with our Superintendents. The Spring Conference this year will be in Virginia Beach at the Cavalier Hotel. I always look forward to time spent at “The Beach”. The facility is fantastic and there are lots of activities nearby with many opportunities to choose from.
